p63 (TP63), a member of the tumor suppressor p53 (TP53) family, is essential for stratified epithelial development and tightly associated with squamous cell carcinomas. Our results led to a new concept that p63 induces cell adhesion molecules including integrin subunit alpha3 (ITGA3) and MFG-E8 (MFGE8) for proliferation.
